Tickford teen scorches to Super2 pole

TICKFORD Racing’s Brad Vaughan has clinched the maiden pole position of his Dunlop Super2 Series career.

It’s been an excellent weekend at Wanneroo Raceway for Vaughan, who has been top three in every session to date.

Adding to the occasion, Vaughan will share the front row later today with his former Super3 rival Kai Allen, who rebounded from a Saturday disaster.

Allen was involved in a Lap 2 clash with Eggleston Motorsport teammate Cooper Murray yesterday and limped home in last place with power steering damage.

Saturday race winner Ryan Wood qualified third with Walkinshaw Andretti United teammate Zach Bates fifth, Murray splitting that pair.

Super2 Series leader Zak Best could only manage 10th, leaving him to share the fifth row with nearest title rival Matt Chahda.

Jobe Stewart took the Super3 class pole.

That backs up him being handed the Super3 race win yesterday due to a five-second penalty applied to Cameron McLeod.
