TRIPLE EIGHT REVEALS PUKEKOHE TRIBUTE

THE Red Bull Ampol Racing Commodores of Shane van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney will run special Kiwi graphics at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint.

The Triple Eight team has revealed a revised look to mark the final Supercars event at Pukekohe Park Raceway.

Situated just south of Auckland, the legendary track will cease operations in April as its owners focus solely on horse racing events.

Pukekohe opened in 1963 and is the spiritual home of New Zealand motorsport, holding Supercars’ first championship round outside Australia in 2001.

Kiwi van Gisbergen is aiming to win the Jason Richards Trophy for the third time, having taken it out in 2016 and during Supercars’ most recent NZ visit in 2019.

Rookie Feeney has not raced at the circuit before but undertook a reconnaissance mission at the venue aboard a Toyota 86 in the lead-up to the event.

Another circuit debutant, Tickford Racing’s Thomas Randle, also has a Pukekohe tribute on his Castrol Mustang this weekend.
