VIDEO: Prototype engine’s role in BJR Gen3 planning

BRAD Jones has outlined how his team is using a Supercars prototype engine to drive Gen3 planning.

Brad Jones Racing has its hands on a spare General Motors 5.7-litre engine which has been run in the Chevrolet Camaro prototype.

BJR is putting the unit to use to map out the next stages for it and other teams once their own allocation of engines arrive – something which KRE’s Kenny McNamara has also spoken of assisting with.

BJR is one of two Supercars squads fielding four Gen3 cars this year, the other being Ford-aligned Tickford Racing.

The race is on for all teams to make testing, as outlined in a Barry Ryan-penned open letter yesterday.
