THE V8 Ute Series was always a popular part of the support bill at V8 Supercars events in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

The racing was hard and fast between the pack of Holden and Ford V8 Ute teams with a bunch of unique characters making the category one to watch.

Sadly, it all came to an end a few years ago but the V8 Sleuth team is keeping the spirit of the series alive by delving into the tape archive of the V8 Ute Racing Series and bringing a range of content for you to enjoy.

This is the first of a range of videos we’ll bring you in upcoming weeks and months.

Enjoy the below video, the opening round of the 2007 series in Adelaide. This is the highlights show covering action from all three races.

Commentary is by a young rookie TV commentator of the period named Aaron Noonan alongside the ‘voice of the Utes’, Wade Aunger.

V8 Sleuth strives to both preserve and celebrate Australian motorsport’s rich history, from tracking and tracing the race-by-race histories and changing ownership of individual cars, to capturing and retelling the stories of the people who made our sport what it is today.
