Waters flags desire to buy a Supercar

TICKFORD Racing star Cam Waters has declared his intentions to own his own Supercar.

Waters is in his eighth main game season after winning the 2015 Super2 crown, and now sees several of his former cars circulating in the Dunlop Series.

Chief among them is TR 1824, the chassis which he drove throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

It is now bright pink in the hands of Zane Morse, who took his maiden Super2 podium last weekend in Townsville.

PRA 1520, the car which Waters raced in 2017 including his Sandown 500 victory with Richie Stanaway, also continues to compete, fielded in the second tier by the Blanchard Racing Team for Aaron Love.

Waters revealed his purchasing dream when asked about the Dunlop Series’ 150-round milestone in Townsville.

“It’s awesome to have been a part of the Dunlop Series and it’s helped get me to where I am today,” he said.

“There’s so many good kids in it at the moment so hopefully a few of them get a few chances to move into the main series.

“I love watching it and seeing my old car, or cars, driving around.

“One day I would like to buy one of them but it’s cool and good for the category.”

Asked specifically about the loud new look of his former Monster Mustang, Waters quipped: “I’ve told them I’m not that pleased with it.

“So if I ever buy it, it will be back in matte black, but whatever floats their boat.”

Waters is seventh in the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship standings with a win and two poles to his name.
