WAU launches Toyota livery

WALKINSHAW Andretti United has uncovered its entry for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series, with long-time partner Morris taking naming rights.

Running one of the team’s traditional numbers, #2, Australian Formula Ford leader Matt Hillyer will be behind the wheel.

Hillyer is one of five WAU drivers in action this weekend in Townsville across three categories, the others being Nick Percat and Chaz Mostert in main game Ford Mustangs, and Zach Bates and Ryan Wood in Super2 Holden ZB Commodores.

“Morris has been an incredible partner of ours for 13 years, which in itself is a huge commitment and testament of the relationship,” said WAU team principal Bruce Stewart.

“It’s a partnership that goes much further than a sticker on a race car, it’s linked with how our business operates. We’ve shared some incredible moments over those years, and we’re excited about this new chapter.

“To see them supporting the WAU Foundation Academy, and indeed the future of our sport, shows their commitment to the community, which we are incredibly thankful for.

“Matt has done an excellent job behind the wheel this year, so we are all excited to see him in the Morris #2 this weekend for Round 1, the entire team will be watching.”

Among other drivers in the Toyota 86 field will be Tickford junior Rylan Gray.
