WALKINSHAW Andretti United will put a number of rising stars through their paces at a Supercars evaluation day next week.
V8 Sleuth has learnt the team will head to Winton Motor Raceway next Wednesday, with Ryan Wood, Aaron Cameron, Matt McLean, Kaleb Ngatoa and Joey Mawson to spend time behind the wheel.
Veteran co-driver Warren Luff will also be on-hand for the occasion.
SEND-OFF: WAU to run special Holden livery in Adelaide
WAU has become a regular advocate for providing opportunities for young talent, not least through Supercars wildcard programs for Kurt Kostecki and Jayden Ojeda the past two seasons.
Last year, Cameron joined Cooper Webster and Zane Morse for an evaluation outing.
Cameron is a highly rated 22-year-old who has won multiple races in both TCR Australia and S5000.
Ngatoa and Mawson similarly are S5000 race winners, the latter of whom carved out an impressive CV in Europe before returning home where he has become a two-time Gold Star winner.
Wood’s title tilt in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge continues this weekend at the Bathurst International. He has already been guaranteed a step up into Porsche Carrera Cup Australia next year via the Team Porsche New Zealand scholarship.
McLean meanwhile is a popular figure on the Super2 grid.
The 2023 Super2 Series field will be made up exclusively of Holden ZB Commodores and Ford Mustang S550s, with WAU considered a strong chance to join the series.

The team has been tight-lipped around which driver(s) they might run in Super2 and even what type of car, given it will switch from Holden to Ford at Repco Supercars Championship level next season.
Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat will continue on as its main game drivers into Gen3.
