2022 Bathurst 1000-winning model available for pre-order

THE scale model of the final Holden to win the Bathurst 1000 is among a selection of models that is now available to pre-order through the V8 Sleuth Superstore.

Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander took a popular triumph in last Sunday’s Repco Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama, their #97 Red Bull Ampol Racing Commodore ZB claiming the marque’s 36th and final victory in the ‘Great Race’ with Holden set to bow out of Supercars at the end of the 2022 season.

Biante Model Cars is replicating the Bathurst-winning car, and it is currently available to pre-order in 1:18 and 1:43 scale (both currently due to be released in Q2 of 2023) as well as the larger 1:12 scale (currently due Q4 2023).

Along with the winning car, Biante is also producing a 1:18 scale replica of the Peter Brock Trophy that is traditionally awarded to the victorious team each year since its creation in 2006 following the King of the Mountain’s tragic death in a tarmac rally crash.

Their 2022 triumph marks the second time that Shane van Gisbergen has held the Peter Brock Trophy on the podium, while the iconic trophy has been present for four of Tander’s five victories in the race.

In addition to the van Gisbergen/Tander Holden, Biante is producing scale replicas of all three of Triple Eight Race Engineering’s entries in the 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000.

The team’s #88 entry for Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup came home in fifth place after a dramatic race.

Triple Eight drafted the seven-time series champion into the qualifying role amid the wet weather that prevailed on the Friday of the event.

Whincup also started the race in the #88 and was at the centre of the multi-car tangle on the run up Mountain Straight on the opening lap.

He narrowly avoided being involved in the second multi-car crash on the exit of the Chase, while Feeney also ran off at the Chase later in the race.

Despite it all, the combination of the rookie and the GOAT recovered to run inside the top three before securing fifth place.

The #88 Feeney/Whincup car can be pre-ordered from the V8 Sleuth Superstore in 1:18 scale.

Biante is also reproducing the team’s Supercheap Auto-sponsored wildcard #888 entry of Craig Lowndes and Declan Fraser.

Fraser led a handful of laps on his ‘Great Race’ debut and ran confidently around the front of the field during one of his stints, while veteran Lowndes once again turned in a strong drive to bring the car home in eighth place.

The #888 Lowndes/Feeney car can be pre-ordered from the V8 Sleuth Superstore in 1:18 scale.

Biante is also producing all four Brad Jones Racing entries from the 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000.

Victory in the ‘Great Race’ once again eluded the team, whose lead #8 entry of Andre Heimgartner and Dale Wood was knocked out in the Lap 5 tangle at the Chase.

All models pre-ordered from the V8 Sleuth Superstore require a 20 percent deposit upon the pre-order being placed.
