SUPERCARS has announced key off-track components to its upcoming 10-day Bathurst festival.
The Bathurst SuperFest concept came in response to the Newcastle 500’s demise, with the Mountain to host the 12 Hour (February 16-18) and Supercars’ Round 1 (February 23-25) in successive weekends.
What had remained a mystery is how the intervening days would be made use of.
That is now clearer, in the form of a ‘Russell Street live site’ and a moonlight cinema.
That live site, in the Bathurst CBD, will be home to an array of car shows, food trucks and concerts across February 19-22, before turning into film central in the evenings to air motorsport movies such as Ford vs Ferrari, Cars, Senna, Days of Thunder and more.
It will also host a streetside stunt show on February 21.
Also on February 21 will be a Supercars transporter parade down William Street from 4pm AEDT.
On the whole, festivities will start on February 15 via the Bathurst 12 Hour Track to Town parade followed by an all-in driver signing session in the CBD.
Valentino Rossi, Paul Tracy and Craig Lowndes are among the big names taking part in the 12 Hour.
