Coulthard on double duties at The Bend

FABIAN Coulthard will join the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series as a guest driver this weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park.

Coulthard will run in Car #100, in a nod to the category’s 100th race since launching in 2016.

The 41-year-old will also be competing in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, having picked up a drive with Porsche Centre Melbourne from Round 2 onwards.

Coulthard won the 2005 Carrera Cup Australia title and has gone on to chalk up 472 Supercars Championship race starts.

He is this year co-driving in the Supercars enduros for Walkinshaw Andretti United, with whom he’s been linked to a possible full-time comeback for 2024.

However, V8 Sleuth understands the momentum has swung back in Kiwi young gun Ryan Wood’s favour to get the nod as Chaz Mostert’s teammate for next season.

Alongside Coulthard as a guest driver this weekend in the Toyota 86s will be Australian Rally Championship ace Harry Bates.

Bates’ brother Lewis filled one of the two guest seats in the Townsville season-opener last month, with Jayden Ojeda the other.

At Sydney Motorsport Park, it was Chris Pither and Warren Luff making cameos behind the wheel.

Track action at The Bend kicks off Friday.
