V8 SuperUte Series leader Aaron Borg will miss this weekend’s action at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Cameron Crick will slot in for Borg, who claimed last year’s title and is currently in Europe exploring overseas opportunities.
Each of the first two round wins this year went to Borg, giving him a 94-point advantage atop the standings from Adam Marjoram.
His Isuzu D-Max will switch from #1 ACDelco to #118 DA Campbell Transport for Crick’s one-off before Borg returns next month at Sandown.
Crick, a regular in Super2, is no stranger to SuperUtes having finished series runner-up in 2019 and 2021.
“Borgy has been doing a mega job this season with his qualifying speed and race results so I will have big shoes to fill,” said Crick.
“I’ve definitely been keeping my eyes on the V8 SuperUtes this year because I’ve had a lot of fun in these cars over the years.
“I’ll be watching out for Dave Sieders and Ryal Harris who I know will be strong at The Bend.
“Last time I raced there in these cars I had a good weekend taking pole position and had a fair few podiums.
“But I’m hoping to go a few spots better this weekend. I’m really excited to get back with the Sieders Racing crew and have some fun!”
There will be one debutant in the 19-car field: Cody Brewczynski, who’ll step up from Aussie Racing Cars to substitute for former Olympian John Steffensen.
