ZAK Best’s Super2 Series title ambitions have received another boost with the appointment of Brendan Hogan as his race engineer.
Best and Anderson Motorsport yesterday made their 2023 arrangement known, which will see the Tickford Racing prodigy drive an ex-Dick Johnson Racing Mustang.
The 21-year-old, who has finished runner-up for the past two Super2 seasons, instantly became the clear favourite in a field which is littered with talent but lacking Supercar experience.
Anderson Motorsport is also coming off a title-winning campaign in Super3 with Brad Vaughan, who has now stepped up to the second tier with Tickford.

The one missing piece in the puzzle for the #17 Best/AMS entry was the identity of its race engineer.
Best worked with race-winning guru Dilan Talabani last year, the Iraq-born engineer staying on at Tickford to guide Vaughan in ’23.
Anderson has instead signed Hogan, who teamed up with the likes of Mark Winterbottom, Will Davison and James Courtney during his own tenure at Tickford.
Hogan then became the inaugural team manager at the Blanchard Racing Team, holding that position from the 2021 pre-season until his shift to the associated CoolDrive automotive business was confirmed last September.
Hogan made a cameo appearance as race engineer for then BRT driver Tim Slade while Mirko De Rosa was sidelined with a back injury.
Best is testing at Winton today in the retro livery used by DJR at last year’s Great Race, with an updated look still to come for the season proper.
