Famous STP Bathurst Commodore to be re-created

THE STP Commodore driven at Bathurst 40 years ago by Allan Grice and Colin Bond to a podium finish is the latest model car announced as being exclusively available at the upcoming Diecast Model Expo.

One of the most popular events among model car collectors in Australia, this year’s event will be held on November 4 and 5 at Tabcorp Park in Melton, Victoria.

Tickets are on sale now with general admission tickets priced at $24 per person and including two days entry to the Expo and, most importantly, providing the opportunity to purchase exclusive expo models.

The Grice/Bond #6 STP Commodore qualified eighth in Hardies Heroes and finished third after brake problems delayed the V8 Holden.

The car will be reproduced exclusively for the Diecast Model Expo by ACE in 1:43 scale with a quantity of only 300 produced and an expo price of $130.

Two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Grice will make a special guest appearance at the Expo and feature at the Saturday night Gala Dinner (tickets are $65 per person).

Further Expo-exclusive models and special guests are set to be announced in upcoming weeks prior to the event.
