Kostecki scores Trans Am call-up

BRODIE Kostecki is set to return to the National Trans Am Series in an expanded TFH Racing outfit.

TFH Racing will bring online a third car for Kostecki to steer alongside regulars Todd Hazelwood and Josh Thomas at the upcoming Tailem Bend round.

Hazelwood had filled in for Kostecki at the opening two events of the Supercars season before the 2023 champion returned to Erebus Motorsport at Taupō.

Separate to its Trans Am program, TFH joined forces with Erebus in a naming rights sponsorship capacity via a last-minute, three-round deal prior to the Bathurst 500.

Now TFH, Kostecki and Hazelwood will team up in Trans Am circles, in the category’s latest biggest name addition.

“It’s great to be going Trans Am racing again with the TFH Hire crew and would like to thank Brett and everyone from TFH Racing for the opportunity,” said Kostecki, who made a Trans Am cameo at the 2022 Queensland Raceway round.

It not yet clear whether Kostecki’s presence this time will be a one-off, or more.

“Racing for me is about making memories, and that’s what we do here at TFH Racing, having Brodie join our team in the Trico Trans Ams is exciting for our team, our supporters and of course our drivers themselves,” said team boss Brett Thomas.

“Brodie, Todd and Josh are all young keen racers who will race anything given the opportunity, and that’s what TFH Racing is about.”

Hazelwood welcomed Kostecki’s recruitment, with the two expected to combine for the Supercars enduros later this year.

“It’s awesome to have BK join the team at TFH Racing with our Trans Am program,” said Hazelwood.

“Having another car with extra data will be extremely valuable for Josh and I as we continue to grow our team and push for race wins.

“It’s also cool to see the association with TFH Hire and Erebus Motorsport continue to grow and develop into a stronger partnership and excited for what the future holds.”

The Bend Motorsport Park will host Round 4 of Trico Trans Am across May 31 to June 2.
