Fire at Mount Panorama after Bathurst 12 Hour

A FIRE broke out at Mount Panorama following the completion of the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Dramatic images surfaced last night via the Bathurst Campers group on Facebook, showing a blaze burning near the iconic Mount Panorama sign.

A large number of fire crews attended the scene to extinguish the blaze, which according to campers present was caused by fireworks.

The incident took place in the hours after Jules Gounon claimed his third successive Bathurst 12 Hour victory.

Gounon survived a controversial clash with GruppeM’s Maro Engel to win for SunEnergy1 Racing alongside Luca Stolz and Australian Kenny Habul.

A record crowd attended the 2023 edition, totalling 53,446 across the three days.
