FORD’S bid for an upgraded aero package at the Repco Bathurst 1000 has been rejected, V8 Sleuth understands.
It’s been a tense few days at Mount Panorama as uncertainty has swirled around whether or not upgrades will be approved – and what the fallout might be whichever way the decision would go.
That culminated in a series of separate meetings yesterday between Supercars and representatives from Ford and Chevrolet teams.

Ford teams had brought parts to add to their cars but have now officially got the red light, ahead of Practice 1 today at 1:20pm AEDT.
A sticking point is believed to have been the process relating to making aero changes without a mandatory parity review being triggered, and the need for the majority of (if not all) parties to agree.
