Separate Supercars parity meetings taking place

HIGH-stakes meetings are underway at Bathurst as the Supercars paddock awaits an outcome to the bitter parity stoush.

An all-in teams meeting had been scheduled to take place today but that did not eventuate.

Instead, the Supercars board is conducting separate meetings, first with General Motors/Triple Eight and second with Ford representatives.

It is not clear how soon a decision will be made and communicated.

As has been well documented, Ford is pushing for an upgraded aero kit after Chevrolet dominated the Sandown 500.

The counter-argument hinges around the upholding of the championship’s rules, given the parity review process has not been triggered since before Townsville.

There has been conflicting information on whether all, or the majority of, teams need to agree on a change or if Supercars’ board can give approval regardless.

UPDATE: Rain, power outage hits circuit as parity talks drag out
