SUPERCARS young gun Jayden Ojeda has been selected to take part in a Mercedes Young Driver Test next week.
German squad Landgraf Motorsport chose Ojeda for the November 9-11 outing at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.
Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing teams are allowed to nominate two drivers aged 17-25 for the test.
Besides co-driving for Matt Stone Racing, Ojeda has enjoyed a bumper year, winning the Bathurst 6 Hour, and a Phillip Island race in GT World Challenge Australia in just his second round start with Volante Rosso Motorsport.
Ojeda is now eagerly awaiting the Spanish test.
“It’s seriously epic, what an opportunity, considering I’d not raced a GT car before landing in Perth for Round 2 and had to be on it straight away,” he said.
“It is a reflection of the program put together by Chris Papadopoulos and Josh Hunt at Volante Rosso Motorsport that I’ve got this opportunity and shows their programs – with the success they have had with Jordan (Love) being on the international stage and the current success they are having with Alex (Gardner) in the Radical Cup.
“The Mercedes Junior program has been building up over recent years and they not only put together an amazing race car, but phenomenal programs to support their teams and I guess the opportunity to take part in the Young Driver Test is just the next step in that.
“It’ll be a massive opportunity, but I feel more prepared than ever to make the most of it and turn it into something great for my future.”
Landgraf Motorsport owner Klaus Landgraf added: “We are happy to acquire Jayden Ojeda to participate in this year’s AMG Young Drivers test together with us.
“The development of young talents are a mainstay of Landgraf Motorsport.”
The Mercedes Young Driver Test will two drivers the prize of entry into the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi.
