GRM to add fifth Peugeot for TCR Australia

GARRY Rogers Motorsport’s Peugeot fleet will grow for the final three rounds of TCR Australia.

While the Melbourne squad will continue fielding its usual four entries – for Jordan Cox, Aaron Cameron, Kody Garland and Ben Bargwanna – at next month’s visit to Queensland Raceway, a fifth will come online from Sandown in September.

It will remain in action across the following two rounds in November at Sydney Motorsport Park and Bathurst, which double as stops on the TCR World Tour calendar.

The car will be backed by Hangcha Forklifts, with the driver to be announced.

It won’t be the first time GRM has run five Peugeots at an event, having done so at the 2022 Bathurst International when Frenchman Teddy Clairet.

The spare car was run last month at Calder Park for testing of new hybrid and push-to-pass systems, as GRM prepares to develop and distribute a new model Peugeot 308 for next season.

Hangcha Forklifts will also dabble in S5000, backing Bargwanna’s #71 entry starting this weekend at SMP.

“We think that the Hangcha S5000 and the Peugeot TCR look amazing,” said Bargwanna.

“We can’t wait to get out on the Sydney Motorsport Park track this weekend and move our way towards the front of the field.”

Bargwanna is yet to race in S5000 this year but did make sporadic appearances across 2021 and ’22.
