GT to feature at more Supercars events in 2023

GT World Challenge Australia will enjoy an increased presence on the Repco Supercars Championship calendar in 2023.

Category owners the Australian Racing Group announced a six-round sprint calendar today, leaving room for further endurance fixtures yet.

Half of the sprint schedule will take place in support of Supercars, with Perth and Sydney Motorsport Park added and Adelaide retained.

Before then, the season will open at the Bathurst 6 Hour on April 7-9, with other stops coming at Phillip Island and Queensland Raceway.

“This is a really strong calendar for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS,” said ARG head of category operations Ben McMellan.

“For both competitors and fans, it offers a great mix of Supercars and SpeedSeries rounds, including high-profile events and circuits perfectly suited to GT racing.

“We saw a fascinating end to the 2022 season, and with interest high in the class, we are expecting more challengers to come and try and grab the silverware in all of the different classes.”

Fans will get their first taste of GT action this year via the internationally acclaimed Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on February 3-5.
