AUSTRALIAN MotoGP star Jack Miller has expressed interest in driving a Supercar after being taken for a spin in Townsville by Shane van Gisbergen.
Miller hopped in the #97 Red Bull Ampol Camaro during the post-practice ride session in his hometown and was blown away.
“First time in a V8 Supercar and to get in with Shane was awesome,” the Red Bull KTM rider told V8 Sleuth.
“Quite impressed with the car handled the kerbs.
“I was mesmerised watching the footwork because I heard as we were coming into the corner, he’s blipping there, and I look over thinking it was auto-blip or something… it was definitely cool to watch that in the cockpit.”
Miller, 28, subsequently made no secret of his desire to cut a lap from the driver’s seat sometime – although stopped short of opening the door for a future career switch.
“Definitely, I’d love to have a crack,” he said.
“Just a crack and say you’ve done it, I’m not saying I would go and be a race car driver or anything like that. I’d love to have a turn.”
MotoGP is currently on its summer break; Miller is seventh in the championship.
