Kostecki makes first public appearance post-saga

BRODIE Kostecki has made his first public appearance since news broke of his and Erebus Motorsport’s high-profile falling out.

Kostecki has surfaced at the Motorsport Australia National Awards Gala Dinner being held tonight in Melbourne, where his 2023 Supercars championship-winning campaign is set to be recognised.

The 26-year-old was the class of the field last season, and also made his mark internationally by qualifying 11th in his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Indianapolis.

However, a dramatic off-season has culminated in Kostecki being absent for Round 1 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship later this month.

A breakdown in relations between Kostecki and Erebus has seen Todd Hazelwood drafted in for the Mount Panorama season-opener and Jayden Ojeda called up to almost certainly take Kostecki’s place in the Betty Klimenko-owned squad’s four-driver enduro roster.

Kostecki, who has laid low in recent weeks, is not expected to race again for Erebus.

None of the involved parties have been willing to comment on the situation as of yet, with the widespread belief being that legal proceedings are at play as an early release is sought.
