Kostecki returns to action at Winton test

BRODIE Kostecki is today back behind the wheel of an Erebus Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro ahead of his sensational return to the Supercars grid next weekend in Taupō.

The 26-year-old is taking part in a two-car Erebus test at Winton Motor Raceway just days after his sudden reconciliation with the squad came to light.

Kostecki has not driven a Supercar since the 2023 season-ending VAILO Adelaide 500, where he and Erebus scored the drivers’ and teams’ championship double.

Today therefore marks his first experience of the revised 2024 aerodynamic package and maiden drive of the chassis that was built to replace his retired championship-winning car.

The new car was steered across the first two events by Todd Hazelwood, who has been retained by Erebus as a co-driver, while Jack Le Brocq continues in #9.

The two Erebus Camaros are sporting the same TFH Hire livery in which they appeared across the opening rounds, with Kostecki’s now once again wearing #1.

Erebus rolled out the new car with #1 at the first test day of the season but could not use it in race conditions without Kostecki driving.

Tickford Racing is also at Winton today with its #55 Thomas Randle Mustang, undertaking validation work on the Ford engine package.
