Kostecki Trans Am return postponed

BRODIE Kostecki’s return to the Trico Trans Am Series has been postponed with the reigning Supercars Champion set to miss this weekend’s round at The Bend.

Kostecki was scheduled to join an expanded TFH Racing in a third, brand-new Ford Mustang entry at this weekend’s Race Tailem Bend round of the Shannons SpeedSeries.

“After testing the brand-new car at QR earlier in the month, some car faults found on the day could not be fixed,” TFH owner Brett Thomas said.

“After further investigations and discussion, both Brodie & the TFH Racing team have agreed that the car itself is not ready and have decided to withdraw from this event and postpone Brodie’s return to Trans Am.”

Kostecki will still be on hand at The Bend, however, assisting his Erebus Motorsport co-driver Todd Hazelwood and Josh Thomas in the two TFH entries.

All up, a 19-car field has been entered for the series’ first round at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, headlined by title combatants James Golding and James Moffat.

Joining the field is South Australian racer Lee Stibbs, who made his Trans Am debut at the Sandown round last year.

The Trans Ams hit the track on Friday for three practice sessions and qualifying, with two races each on Saturday and Sunday.
