Mostert to drive for own team in Bathurst 12 Hour

CHAZ Mostert has elected to drive for his new GT4 team, Method Motorsport, in this year’s Repco Bathurst 12 Hour, rather than shoot for outright success.

The Supercars star is set to co-drive one of Method’s two McLaren Artura GT4s, sharing with Porsche rising star Marcos Flack and newcomer Jesse Bryan.

Mostert is a two-time Bathurst 12 Hour polesitter but is yet to add victory in the event to his two Bathurst 1000 crowns and 2016 Bathurst 6 Hour triumph.

A handful of GT4 entries are expected for the February 18 race, where GT3 machines will contest the outright honours.

Method co-founder Guy McEntyre said preparations are on-track for the team’s debut.

“I am keen to see the diversity in age come together to share their expertise and give it their all at our first event of the season,” he said.

“The team put in a big effort last year and it is good to be now weeks away from going racing and see it all come together.

“The driver launch of our second car is next then we pack the transporter and head to the Mountain.”

Mostert’s Bathurst entry will sport #25, the same number he campaigns in the Repco Supercars Championship with Walkinshaw Andretti United.

Method is set to compete in the new GT4 Australia Series following Bathurst.
