Museum taking Seton Bathurst winner on the road

THE car behind Barry “Bo” Seton and Midge Bosworth’s 1965 Bathurst Great Race triumph will feature at this year’s Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

While Glenn Seton had a famously painful relationship with Bathurst, his father’s victory there came aboard a Ford Cortina Mk.I GT500 which nowadays resides in the National Motor Racing Museum at Mount Panorama.

Upon invitation to Adelaide, the NMRM agreed to take the car on the road.

It will join an impressive list of cars in the PremiAir Hire Bathurst winners’ category at the March 16-17 event.

Also in attendance will be the VH SS Commodore which won the 1982 and 1983 editions, the ZB Commodore which conquered the Mountain in 2020 and 2022, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32s which won in 1991 and 1992.

Three generations of Seton have competed in the Bathurst Great Race, Glenn’s son Aaron having joined the club in 2022.
