THE Bathurst International marked the latest impressive chapter in the 2023 campaign of rising star Cameron McLeod.
Following sweeps last month of Super3 at Bathurst (in a Nissan Altima) and National Sports Sedans on the Gold Coast (aboard a MARC GT SS), McLeod also went three-from-three in his Kumho Tyre V8 Touring Car Series debut last weekend at Mount Panorama.
This time driving an FG Falcon once raced by Shane van Gisbergen for Stone Brothers Racing, McLeod was unrivalled.

But there was one hurdle to overcome, when he stalled off the line in Race 3 and dropped from first to last – also picking up a five-second penalty for momentarily jumping the start.
What followed was a masterclass as the 18-year-old carved his way through the field and back to the front, from where he extended his margin enough to win despite his lingering time penalty.
