PremiAir revives Slade, De Rosa combination

PREMIAIR Racing’s off-season recruitment drive has netted another prized signing in the form of race-winning engineer Mirko De Rosa.

Then at Erebus Motorsport, De Rosa guided Anton De Pasquale to victory at Hidden Valley in 2020 before being snapped up by the Blanchard Racing Team to be its inaugural race engineer.

It was there that De Rosa worked with Tim Slade in seasons 2021-22, before the latter departed to join PremiAir.

De Rosa has belatedly followed; he is expected to engineer Slade’s #23 Camaro this year, although the specifics of his PremiAir role have yet to be confirmed.

“Mirko is a well-respected and successful race engineer and with a decade of experience in the Supercars paddock under his belt including some great results along the way, there is no doubt his appointment will further bolster our engineering department ahead of the new season,” said team owner Peter Xiberras.

“Obviously he also has a great relationship with a number of members of our team already, including with Tim, with the pair having enjoyed a successful working partnership for two years previously.

“We are all greatly looking forward to welcoming Mirko to our engineering line-up here at PremiAir Racing for what is shaping up to be a truly exciting year ahead.”

It was just last week that PremiAir trumpeted the signing of championship-winning former Triple Eight and Dick Johnson Racing engineer Ludo Lacroix.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at PremiAir Racing and I can’t wait to share some success with the team,” said De Rosa.

“I can see what Pete is trying to achieve and his vision, and I am very excited to be a part of it.”

Slade and James Golding form PremiAir’s 2024 driver line-up – making it one of just two teams (the other being DJR) with an unchanged roster.
