FIVE-TIME Bathurst 1000 winner Steve Richards and a range of other Supercars and rallying stars have been confirmed as the guest drivers for the remaining rounds of the Toyota GAZOO 86 Racing Series.

Richards will be joined by Toyota rally star Harry Bates as the guest drivers for the Toyota category’s appearance at the Repco Bathurst 1000 on November 30-December 5.

Richards is a five-time Bathurst 1000 winner – he won ‘The Great Race’ in 1998, 1999, 2013, 2015 and most recently with Craig Lowndes in 2018.

His appearance in the Toyota category will mean the former Supercars full-timer will race against son Clay, who is a regular in the Toyota GAZOO 86 Racing Series and competed in the category at the Repco Mount Panorama 500 in February.

The series has been on hiatus since Townsville in July and will return to racing this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park with Team 18 endurance driver Michael Caruso and Toyota rally driver Lewis Bates at the wheel of the pair of guest 86s.

The one-make series will also compete at the final Sydney Motorsport Park Supercars round on November 19-21, where Triple Eight endurance driver Garth Tander and former Toyota 86 Series Champion, and now Porsche Carrera Cup leader, Cameron Hill, will drive the guest cars.

Tander is no stranger to the Toyota 86 category, having also been a guest driver at Phillip Island in 2019, while Hill was crowned champion of the series in 2017.

Bathurst in December will round out a five-round series for the Toyotas for 2021.
