Trans Am frontrunner to race Supercar in Adelaide

BRAD Jones Racing will welcome Turtle Wax Trans Am Series frontrunner Lochie Dalton into its ranks at the VALO Adelaide 500.

It’s been announced that Dalton will make his Dunlop Super2 Series debut driving BJR’s #8 VF Commodore at the December 1-4 event.

Dalton will replace Elly Morrow, the latter focusing on her S5000 Tasman Series commitments in Adelaide.

Driving for Garry Rogers Motorsport, Dalton finished sixth in the 2022 Trans Am standings.

The outing could feasibly be a chance for Dalton to push for more Supercar experience next season, when BJR is again expected to enter the feeder series.

All up, there will be 31 cars on the combined Super2/Super3 grid in Adelaide, where tight title battles will be settled in both classes.

Triple Eight’s Declan Fraser leads Zak Best of Tickford Racing by 75 points in Super2, with Matt Payne, Cameron Hill and Tyler Everingham all still in mathematical contention too.

It’s all but a two-horse race in the third tier, with Kai Allen 66 points up on Brad Vaughan.

Allen has already been guaranteed a promotion to Super2 next year with Eggleston Motorsport.
