Triple Eight locks in Asian Le Mans line-up

AS one season ends, another begins for Broc Feeney.

The 21-year-old will form part of Triple Eight Race Engineering’s three-pronged roster for the 2023/24 Asian Le Mans Series, V8 Sleuth has learnt.

Feeney will team up with Prince Jefri Ibrahim and German whiz Luca Stolz in a Mercedes-AMG GT3, with Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit hosting the opening round next weekend.

Automatic entry into next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans is the prize for the eventual GT class champion.

Besides contending for the Repco Supercars Championship title, Feeney has thrived in GT3 equipment in 2023.

He went toe-to-toe with international factory drivers to pinch second on the grid for the Bathurst 12 Hour and has raced in several events on the Australian and Asian GT World Challenge calendars.

Stolz joined Triple Eight this year for Asian GT World Challenge and chalked up two race wins.

There will be at least one other driver familiar to Supercars fans competing in ALMS, with Jayden Ojeda freshly snapped up by Craft-Bamboo Racing.

The 2023/24 ALMS calendar comprises five races across three rounds at Sepang, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Before then, Feeney is in Adelaide this weekend trying to secure a top three finish in the Supercars drivers’ championship as well as helping Triple Eight’s teams’ title efforts.
