Triple Eight to launch 2024 livery at airport

TRIPLE Eight Race Engineering has announced it will launch its 2024 Supercars challenger early next month in a special event at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport.

The Queensland town is home to the team’s recruit Will Brown, who’ll take the covers off the new-look Red Bull Ampol Camaro on the afternoon of Saturday February 3 (3-7pm AEST).

“This is going to be an epic event for Will’s fellow Toowoombians and Supercars fans alike – it’s not every day you can completely take over a fully operational commercial airport to launch our season like this!” said Triple Eight boss Jamie Whincup.

“We’re encouraging anyone and everyone to come out to Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport for an afternoon of fun; watch us reveal our new livery, see Matt Hall (Red Bull aerobatic pilot) go ballistic up in the sky, meet the drivers, see some epic cars and have a can of Red Bull on us.

“It’s going to be a great way to kick off an exciting new era for Red Bull Ampol Racing and I can’t think of a more exciting way to do it.”

Triple Eight has committed to building two brand-new Gen3 cars for season 2024 as it looks to reclaim the champion mantle from Erebus Motorsport.

Brown has joined from Erebus as Shane van Gisbergen’s replacement, while Broc Feeney is back for a third season with the Banyo squad. It is not yet clear which race number Brown will don.

Triple Eight is due to test at Queensland Raceway on February 5, ahead of the season-opening Bathurst 500 on February 23-25.
