DOOM and gloom over the Newcastle 500’s immediate future has done little to dampen celebrations launching the latest edition of another Supercars street race.
Queensland’s four Supercars teams each brought one of its race cars for a drive over the Sundale Bridge – which connects Southport to Main Beach/Surfers Paradise – ahead of next week’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
Broc Feeney (Triple Eight), Anton De Pasquale (Dick Johnson Racing), Jack Le Brocq (Matt Stone Racing) and James Golding (PremiAir Racing) went side-by-side across the normally busy public road/bridge this morning, as captured below.
The Gold Coast 500 kicks off Friday, October 27 and represents the penultimate round of the season.
