SPORTS Sedan racing has had an amazing history in Australia over the years and it’s been the place where some of the coolest cars ever conceived here have made a name for themselves.
We’ve dug back into the archives and posted this video, the final race from the 2002 Australian Sports Sedan Championship at Sandown in Melbourne, to our YouTube Channel for race fans to enjoy.

This 2002 Sandown event was run as a support to the Betta Electrical V8 Ultimate, the final round of that year’s V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Western Australian Tony Ricciardello came out on top of the Sports Sedan Championship held over five rounds, his Chevrolet-powered Alfetta GTV too strong for the chasing pack.
This action from Sandown was aired on the Trackside program at the time with commentary from Greg Rust and Craig Lowndes.
