Wet weather interrupts Victorian teams’ testing

THREE Supercars teams have postponed their pre-Sandown 500 test due to wet weather at Winton Motor Raceway.

Brad Jones Racing, Team 18 and the Blanchard Racing Team all halted running prior to 11am, which rules allow to be done once a year with the ability to reschedule a full day.

BJR and Team 18 have confirmed they will instead run tomorrow at Winton.

It’s likely BRT will follow suit with its #3 CoolDrive Mustang, given it was already planning to run its #7 wildcard tomorrow.

The BRT wildcard, being shared by Aaron Love and Jake Kostecki, tested for the first time yesterday at Winton.

Contrary to BJR, Team 18 and BRT, several Victorian teams have pressed on with their testing programs today.

Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United and Erebus Motorsport have all confirmed as much, and Grove Racing is believed to be in the same boat.

Grove and Erebus yesterday completed evaluation days, for Kevin Estre and Cooper Murray/Jay Hanson respectively.

All four Queensland teams are also running today under clear skies in Ipswich, although that did not prevent a dramatic morning highlighted by a huge crash for Shane van Gisbergen.
