Why Supercars title leader is working a day job

USED car salesman by day, professional racing driver by weekend.

That’s the double life of Repco Supercars Championship leader Will Brown.

Brown has made a superb start to his Triple Eight tenure, finishing every race this season in either first or second.

But there’s more to the Toowoomba product than what you see at race meetings, with Brown working three days a week for his family’s business.

“My family has done a lot to get me to where I am,” he told V8 Sleuth.

“The business has grown massively and for it to continue I guess I have to be involved right now.

“It’s been great, I enjoy going to work. It does keep me very grounded, selling used cars. You see every demographic and I think it’s a great thing to do.

“I’m only an hour and a half from the (Triple Eight) workshop and I’m always in there when they need me.”

The 25-year-old also explained the Will Brown Motorsport branding that has popped up this season.

“Broc (Feeney, teammate) has got his own little logos; I’ve always just run Will Brown Motorsport. I like it,” he said.

“There’s nothing to it, I’m not starting a team or anything like that, I can tell you that much – I have got enough going on!”

Brown will race in the GT World Challenge Australia round at Phillip Island on April 12-14 before resuming his Supercars campaign the following weekend at Taupō Motorsport Park.
