SUPERCARS powerhouse Triple Eight has signed current Carrera Cup Australia series leader Cameron Hill for its 2022 Super2 Series campaign.
The team has confirmed it will continue to run two cars in the Supercars feeder category, with a second driver yet to be named.
Hill will step into the team as its current Super2 star Broc Feeney moves on to the Repco Supercars Championship in place of the retiring Jamie Whincup.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cam into the Triple Eight family for the 2022 Super2 season,” said Whincup, who will take over from Roland Dane as the team’s managing director.
“Our emphasis will be on surrounding him with the right people, so he feels comfortable to show his talent in a super competitive series.
“Cam has an extensive racing CV, so we know he’s capable of giving it a red-hot crack.”
Hill’s CV includes victory in the 2015 Australian Formula Ford Series before spending two years in the Toyota 86 Racing Series and then moving into Carrera Cup.
He has been the dominant force in the Porsche category so far in 2021 and holds an 80-point series lead after winning six of the nine races held to date.
“This is something I’ve dreamed about since I was 10 years old,” says Hill of joining Triple Eight, having risen through the ranks with his own family-run squad.
“As a kid, I can remember sitting in front of the TV and watching Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup winning Bathurst three years in a row.
“When Jamie rang me and welcomed me to the team, it was a surreal moment.”
Hill says he’s proud of what he’s achieved in Carrera Cup but realised a move to Super2 was necessary in order to push for a Supercars Championship seat.
“I’m going to have to learn the intricacies of racing a Supercar but driving for Triple Eight will provide me with the best-possible environment to make a smooth transition from the Porsche,” he added.
“My expectations for the 2022 are realistic but they are also high. I will have a great car and a great team, so there’s no reason I can’t be challenging for race wins.”
Feeney currently leads the 2021 Super2 Series standings with two rounds remaining at Sydney Motorsport Park (November 19-21) and Bathurst (November 30-December 5).
Hill has three rounds to go in his Carrera Cup title quest. The series will return to action at Bathurst before a double-header at The Bend (December 10-12) to finish the year.
