A PAIR of red flags have produced a mixed-up qualifying order for Saturday’s second Dunlop Series race, with only a handful of cars setting representative lap times.
Broc Feeney topped the session by just 0.0999-seconds from Jordan Boys, with Matthew McLean, Jaylyn Robotham, Matt Chahda, Zak Best and Tim Blanchard up next.
But that’s where the representative times end.

Eighth fastest when the session was finally called was Super3 runner Gary Collins, whose single 8m57.1347s lap included the time spent in the pits during the session’s initial red flag period.
The session was initially halted moments after it got underway when Tyler Everingham’s MW Motorsport Nissan stopped at the top of Mountain Straight on his out-lap with broken left-rear suspension.
The cause was unseen by the television broadcast cameras, but team boss Matthew White reported that Everingham was hit by another car, and the Kelly Grove Racing Altima of Matt Payne sported damage to its right rear when it returned to the pits.
The incident will be investigated by stewards.
The session had resumed long enough for cars to start finishing their first flying laps when it was red-flagged again.
Super3 racer John McCorkindale had a huge moment over Skyline and grappled with his FG Falcon all the way down through the Esses and the Dipper before finally spinning into the fence on the exit.
Moments later, Aaron Seton spun on the exit of the Chase and crashed nose-first into the wall under the bridge.
Seton’s impact moved the temporary concrete barriers across the Rydges Hotel access gate, bringing an early end to the session.
Several top Super2 runners were on the verge of completing flying laps when the red flags flew, including Jayden Ojeda who looked poised to pip Feeney’s time.
The result sealed the ARMOR ALL Super2 Series Pole Champion Award for Feeney, who also claimed pole for the opening race.
