Campbell, Shahin in Manthey EMA Bathurst roster

BATHURST 12 Hour contenders Manthey EMA have unveiled its pair of Porsches and corresponding driver line-ups for next month’s event.

Hot on the heels of his 24 Hours of Daytona triumph, Australian ace Matt Campbell will again spearhead the team’s all-Pro #912 entry, this time joined by Laurens Vanthoor and Ayhancan Güven.

Campbell will be vying for a second Bathurst 12 Hour outright victory, and to go one better than last year’s runner-up result.

“I’m really excited to be rejoining EMA Motorsport and Manthey for the 2024 Bathurst 12 Hours,” said the 28-year-old, who will be armed with the latest-generation Porsche GT3.

“It’s one of my favourite events and tracks in the world. I might be a bit biased, but I really enjoyed last year and I hope we can improve one more position on our second place finish in 2023. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The team’s #911 Pro-Am car will be entered as The Bend Manthey EMA, sporting Shell V-Power Motorsport Park branding in association with co-driver Yasser Shahin.

Shahin, who is also contesting the 2024 World Endurance Championship with Manthey EMA in the LMGT3 class, will team up with Harry King and Alessio Picariello at Mount Panorama.

“The Bathurst 12 Hours is Australia’s greatest race and our #911 car will showcase the new partnership with Shell V Power,” said Shahin.

“It’s probably the only race on home soil where The Bend-backed team has yet to win, so we’ll be looking to change that with a strong performance and driver pairing.

“Harry was incredibly fast in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia at Bathurst and Alessio is a recognised world-class driver. We are very well prepared for the race and will give it our all.”

Shell V-Power Motorsport Park CEO Alistair MacDonald added: “Having the privilege of featuring our valued naming rights partner, Shell V-Power, at a prestigious international event like the Bathurst 12 Hour is an exceptional opportunity, especially considering the early stages of our recently established 10-year partnership.

“The vehicle’s appearance is truly remarkable, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing its impressive performance in the hands of Yasser Shahin, Harry King and Alessio Picariello.”

A 31-car field has been announced for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour, which will take place across February 16-18.
