DICK Johnson Racing has become the third team to publicly confirm its 2024 Repco Supercars Championship driver line-up.
Hot on the heels of announcing the Ralph family as its new majority owner, DJR confirmed last August that Will Davison and Anton De Pasquale would continue “in 2023”.
That there was no indication of the renewals being longer term left the door open for DJR to be a potential player in the next silly season, but that won’t be the case.
“Both are signed for next year, which is good,” the Ford team’s CEO David Noble told the Parked Up Plus podcast.
“I mean it’s the consistency that you’re after, development in the new car, so it’s nice to have that and not have to get into that silly season.
“Both are locked away for next year… that was done before I got here but yeah, very happy that we have got our two guys at the moment onboard so it takes us out of the equation for anything in the market.”
While Davison has found his feet to post four top eight results on the trot, De Pasquale is languishing down in 19th in the championship.
“He is really resilient, cares a lot about his driving and we have to make sure we can deliver him a product that can get him up on the podium,” Noble said of De Pasquale.
DJR joins Triple Eight and Erebus Motorsport in taking themselves out of the driver market.
Erebus last year trumpeted new two-year deals for both Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown, while Triple Eight recently revealed Broc Feeney is under lock and key when it rolled out the news of a contract extension for Shane van Gisbergen.
