MATT Stone Racing has officially become the first Chevrolet Supercars team to turn a lap with a Gen3 race car.
Cameron Hill was at the wheel of the Camaro this morning at Queensland Raceway, where Dick Johnson Racing is also debuting its #17 Shell V-Power Mustang.
MSR is running a test livery for its shakedown, with a predominantly black car featuring Truck Assist branding on the sides.
Hill’s teammate Jack Le Brocq will also spend time in the car today.
MSR’s second car is due to cut its first laps on Thursday.

That MSR has beaten five other Chevrolet teams to the first shakedown is a feather in its cap, Camaro parts having been said to be running later than Ford variants.

Homologation team Triple Eight Race Engineering and customer outfit PremiAir Racing will both be in action on Thursday.
It should be noted Triple Eight star Shane van Gisbergen was behind the wheel of a Red Bull Camaro at Bathurst on the weekend, although that was the Supercars-owned prototype with a test livery applied to it.
Fellow Camaro teams Brad Jones Racing, Erebus Motorsport and Team 18 will all hold their maiden shakedowns next week at Winton Motor Raceway.
The first ever non-prototype Gen3 running was conducted last Wednesday by the Blanchard Racing Team, which is back at Winton today for a full test.
