Hill to retain New Zealand-themed livery

CAMERON Hill will carry the black-and-white hues of Supaglass for a second successive round when the Repco Supercars Championship heads west.

Having run in Tyrepower colours at the opening two events, Matt Stone Racing unveiled a Kiwi-themed Supaglass livery on its #4 Camaro for last month’s Taupō Super400. Team owner Matt Stone hails from New Zealand.

Hill performed solidly across the ditch, making the Saturday Top 10 Shootout, and finishing 11th on the Sunday.

He’ll look to take another step forward at next week’s Perth SuperSprint, as MSR strives to recover lost ground in the live pitlane.

“Supaglass have supported me for the last few years, so it’s great for them to be centre stage as the naming rights sponsor for the upcoming round in Perth,” said the Canberran.

“I feel like we’ve had a competitive package at each round so far, just a few things outside our control have hurt the results.

“I’m not letting that bother me, and am focused on putting my best foot forward for Perth.

“It’s exciting to be heading west again, Perth is a great city… if only it wasn’t so far away!

“The track is very tight, finding clear space in qualifying can sometimes be tricky. The nature of it being such a short lap time means the field spread will be very close.

“A couple tenths can be the difference between the front or back of the field.

“If we can get our ducks to line up in qualifying, we can certainly challenge for the front.”

Teammate Nick Percat meanwhile will be looking to bounce back, having gone from victory lane at Albert Park to qualifying last for both Taupō races.
