HOLDEN Bathurst royalty Greg Murphy is set to sample the Chevrolet Camaro Gen3 Supercar for the first time today at the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Murphy, 50, will steer the Camaro in a Gen3 session from 3:30pm, sharing the track with the newly rebodied Ford Mustang driven by Dick Johnson.
It’s a busy day for four-time Bathurst 1000 winner Murphy, who is competing in the Great Race for the first time since 2014 – sharing a Boost Mobile Commodore wildcard with Richie Stanaway.
Murphy is an all-time Holden legend and has contested every one of his 200 Supercars Championship round starts with the Lion marque.
Fellow Bathurst-winning drivers Steven Richards and Luke Youlden are also scheduled to drive the Gen3 cars this weekend, swapping between the Camaro and Mustang.
Erebus co-driver and Seven television talent Jack Perkins will likewise turn Camaro Gen3 laps in a special session for the broadcast.
