PremiAir yet to start on 2024 driver line-up

PREMIAIR Racing is not rushing into locking in its 2024 driver line-up as the Supercars silly season kicks off.

Tim Slade and James Golding are thought to be on one-year deals, leaving the improving Chevrolet squad as a potential player in the market.

Team owner Peter Xiberras has seemed satisfied with the performance of both drivers, who are 13th and 14th in the championship respectively, but he openly admits next season’s roster is yet to be sorted.

“This is a hand-on-heart answer, I haven’t even thought about it,” Xiberras told V8 Sleuth.

“It’s probably something that we need to start thinking about.

“I’m quite happy with the two guys we have got in the car.

“I sort of like that we have got a mature driver in one car and a younger guy in the other car.”

Speaking on the Friday of the Darwin Triple Crown, he elaborated: “Tim brings a lot of stability to the team. You sort of know what you’re going to get with Tim which is comforting.

“Jimmy to me is an exciting driver where he shows so much potential but we’re yet to see him put it all together.

“That will take time and I’m not saying that we’re not happy with him, but it is good having that younger and mature combination.

“And there’s actually a good harmony in the team with the two drivers.”

Triple Eight Race Engineering, Dick Johnson Racing and Erebus Motorsport are the only three teams to have publicly confirmed their 2024 driver line-ups so far.
