Stanaway’s first Mustang Supercar breaks cover

GROVE Racing has shown off its revised 2024 Penrite Supercars livery for Kiwi duo Matt Payne and Richie Stanaway.

Anticipation is aplenty around what the Braeside squad can achieve this year, following a big finish to 2023 that included Payne winning the final race of his rookie season.

For Bathurst 1000-winning recruit Stanaway, this month’s Thrifty Bathurst 500 will be his first solo Supercars race in more than four years – and his first in a Mustang.

“The new livery is not just a design; it represents a shared vision and determination among the team,” said the 32-year-old, who’ll drive a brand-new chassis.

“Together, we are ready for the upcoming season and want to make it a memorable one for Penrite Racing.”

Payne echoed those sentiments: “I really love the sleek design for this year, and I can’t wait to showcase it on the track and make our partners and fans proud.

“Looking forward to cutting our first laps of the year in a few weeks at the Bathurst 500.”

CEO Brenton Grove meanwhile dubbed the livery the team’s “most exciting yet”.

“I believe it showcases our ambitions for success and is a nice evolution of Penrite Racing liveries in the past,” he said.

“The team has worked extremely hard over the summer break, and with our new driver Richie Stanaway together with Matt Payne who finished the year strong winning the Adelaide 500, we’re eager to get started and achieve even more this season.

“Anything is possible in 2024.”
