Supercars to leave front row vacant at The Bend

THE polesitter for the three Supercars races at this weekend’s OTR SuperSprint will start from the third grid slot at The Bend.

A memo distributed to competitors confirmed the front row will be left vacant due to visibility issues.

It’s similar to a bulletin that was sent out ahead of Round 2 at Albert Park.

“Due to restricted visibility of the start lights from Grid boxes 1 and 2, for Races 20, 21 and 22 the front row of the Grid (Grid boxes 1 and 2) will be left vacant,” read today’s communications.

“The pole Car is to form up in Grid box 3, the Car noted on the issued Grid Sheet in position 2 is to form up in Grid box 4 and each other Car listed on the issued Grid Sheet is to form up in the Grid box 2 positions back from the position noted on the issued Grid Sheet.”

The first of three 20-lap Supercars races will start today at 4:30pm local time (5pm AEST).
