Tickford swoops on BJR young gun

TICKFORD Racing has found its newest Dunlop Super2 Series driver, landing the signature of Lochie Dalton.

The 21-year-old is about to complete his first full Super2 season with Brad Jones Racing, with whom he’s competing in Adelaide.

Dalton, who finished the 2023 National Trans Am Series as runner-up to James Moffat, made a solid Super2 debut this time last year for BJR and has gone on to chalk up a round podium at Wanneroo Raceway in April.

V8 Sleuth’s coverage of the VAILO Adelaide 500 is proudly presented by Bad Boy Mowersexplore the world of Bad Boy Mowers with the new Spring/Summer catalogue of high-performance mowers here.

He will take over from the retiring Elly Morrow in the Tickford line-up next year, while 2022 Super3 champion Brad Vaughan returns for a second season in the second tier.

It’s understood Vaughan and Dalton will have company in the form of a third Tickford Super2 car next year for Rylan Gray.

The 17-year-old is making his Dunlop Series debut this weekend in Super3.

He impressed yesterday, qualifying outright 21st and 18th for the two races – equating to fourth and second in class, respectively.

After this single round in an FG X Falcon, Gray is set to transition into a Super2 Mustang next year.

In addition to the two Gen2 Mustangs it’s running in 2023, Tickford does also have an ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport chassis in its possession.

As for Dalton, it’s the second successive year that Tickford has raided BJR’s stocks, Morrow having come across from the Albury squad last summer.
