V8 SuperUtes snares multi-year major backer

THE V8 SuperUte Series has secured important investment in the form of a naming rights agreement with Tyrepower until the end of 2025.

The announcement comes just in time for this weekend’s decider at the Gold Coast, where David Sieders’ Mazda BT-50 will also carry Tyrepower branding.

“Tyrepower is one of the most successful and recognisable brands in the Australian automotive sector and as part of our category’s growth plan to become the most market relevant racing category in Australia, it’s the perfect partnership to take the series into the next phase of growth,” said category operations manager Filippa Guarna.

“This partnership ensures significant investment towards the development of the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series, and we’re stoked that Rob Smith and the team at Tyrepower recognise the hard work we’ve invested in recently to make the category a standout.

“2023 has seen exceptional racing, we’ve got more V8 SuperUtes in production ready for next year, and our teams are ‘all in’ to help the category grow.

“So our future is exciting and, together with Tyrepower, we will be able to continue to grow and improve the V8 SuperUtes platform for the enjoyment of fans, competitors and partners.

“We look forward to working with Tyrepower closely over the coming years, starting right here on the streets of Surfers Paradise.”

Aaron Borg is hunting back-to-back titles and leads the standings from Adam Marjoram and Ryal Harris.

While the 2023 crown will be decided this weekend, V8 SuperUtes will race again this year with a non-championship round to be held next month in Adelaide where the inaugural Go Sunny Tradies Cup will be on the line.
