$12,000 championship ring for GT4 title prize

THE winner of the inaugural GT4 Australia series will be rewarded with a personally designed 18-carat diamond championship ring worth $12,000.

The prize announcement comes as Mark Cotterell Master Jeweller signs on as a partner of the new standalone series, which will kick off at Phillip Island on April 12-14.

Also on offer as part of the arrangement will be a BRM V6 watch for the winner of the four-hour enduro at Queensland Raceway in August, and a BRM B12 watch at the Bathurst season finale.

Cotterell himself will be a competitor, driving a Ginetta G50.

“What an amazing opportunity for our competitors: an elite level prize pool befitting one of the premiere series in Australia,” said category manager Troy Williams.

Added Cotterell: “Considering I run a high-end jewellery business, GT4 is the perfect fit.

“The category is home to some beautiful looking and stylish, purpose-built race cars which fits perfectly in with my business.

“People ask ‘how do you put jewellery and racing together?’ I always respond by saying ‘to be good at either, you need to be incredibly detailed and you’ve got to be on your game’. And they are also very similar in regards to how much you want to spend!

“It’s great to be involved with such a growth category as both a sponsor and a competitor.”
