NEXT year’s Repco Supercars Championship season-opener will be known as the 2024 Thrifty Bathurst 500.
Supercars has confirmed rental car company Thrifty has taken naming rights for the additional Mount Panorama round.
That follows it backing Round 1 this year in Newcastle, and the street race not being renewed in time to make the 2024 calendar.
Running February 23-25, the Thrifty Bathurst 500 will form the second half of a SuperFest at the Mountain, which will kick off the previous weekend with the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.
“We are delighted to welcome Thrifty as the naming rights partner for the Bathurst 500, kicking off what promises to be an exhilarating 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season,” said Supercars general manager of commercial, Jamie Black.

Thrifty APAC vice-president Eoin MacNeill expressed his delight at the arrangement.
